Doctors

Dr Lisa Corrie MBChB MRCOP DFSRH DRCOG

I grew up in Balmaclellan and attended Dalry School and Kirkcudbright Academy. I studied medicine at Edinburgh University, graduating in 2002.

I completed my GP training in Leith, Edinburgh. I lived and worked in and around Edinburgh until, with my family, I returned to Dumfries and Galloway in 2008.

I joined Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse Medical Practice as a GP partner in August 2011. My medical interests are women’s health, children’s health and palliative care.

I am also a medical student tutor and at present we train students from Dundee University.

My outside interests mainly involve spending time with my husband and 2 children, often at the chocolate factory.

(Dr Corrie has limited availability due to taking on extra responsibility as a GP Trainer and also taking on an outside leadership role with the Local Medical Committee (LMC).)

Dr Catriona Buchan MBChB, MRCGP

I grew up near Stirling and attended Glasgow University graduating in 1989. In 1990 I came to Dumfries to do a 3 year GP training scheme.

After 1 year in Australia I worked in paediatrics firstly in Dumfries then Edinburgh, before coming to Kirkcudbright as a locum in 1996.

I have been a half time partner here since 1998. I am married with 2 daughters. We enjoy the beautiful countryside of Dumfries and Galloway.

Dr Timothy McClure MBBCH MRCGP

I am originally from Northern Ireland. I worked in Ayrshire since 2002. I have been a GP trainer in Ayrshire since 2008 and am interested in continuing with this.

Outside interests include touring Britain with our 4 children in our caravan.

Dr Emma Coleman MBChB MRCGP

I trained in Glasgow and Dundee and moved to Kirkcudbright with my family in 2019.

My medical interests include sexual health, child health and palliative care, I am also an FY2 trainer

My outside interests include yoga, knitting, music and taking my children to the beach.

Dr Rohan Meldrum MbChb, MRCGP 2009, DFSRH, DRCOG

I grew up in Annan and before moving on to study medicine in Aberdeen. 

I worked in a variety of roles and healthcare settings across the central belt including completing my GP training in Paisley.

I returned to Dumfries and Galloway in 2023, joining the practice as a partner in September 2024.

I have a special interest in women’s health, neurodevelopmental conditions and lifestyle medicine. 

My outside interests include reading and enjoying the Dumfries and Galloway countryside. 

Dr Jolanta Mekarska

I  joined the practice in September 2022. I trained in Poland but had connections to the area and wanted to move here to live and work.

I am a Polish speaker and hope to be a valued member of the team.

Robert Morrow, Advanced Nurse Practitioner

I trained in Dumfries and after working for 12 years in the hospital setting, I trained as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a busy GP practice.

When not working, I can usually be found training for my next ultra marathon.
